Creative Explorations: Beyond Jewellery

At Veva, curiosity is the driving force behind my work. Although my brand was born from the fusion of porcelain and textiles in jewellery design, my creative process is a living entity that seeks to expand into new forms and mediums.

In this space, I share special projects, collaborations and artistic works that stem from the same premise as my collections: simplicity as the ultimate expression of elegance. Here, the language of fabric and the purity of materials break free from the confines of jewellery to explore new horizons.

Each project presented here is a fragment of my personal imagination; a constant quest to preserve the integrity of the material through a contemporary lens.

Welcome to my think tank.

Bread and roses

Photograph transferred onto fabric, cotton thread, steel mesh, acrylic wool.

This work uses cross-stitch embroidery on a metal mesh to symbolise the prison of domestic chores historically imposed on women. It represents a reappropriation and decontextualisation of these techniques, transforming a past imposition into an act of artistic vindication.

Chrysalis: The refuge of matter

Cotton salvaged from my macramé pieces, wool from Menorca’s native sheep, and a driftwood branch. 2024.

Chrysalis was born in the heart of Menorca, where the sea yields its branches and the land its wool.

This piece is much more than just a tapestry; it is an exercise in remembrance and sustainability. In creating it, I wanted to give new life to the surplus cotton from my jewellery pieces, wrapping it in the warmth of Menorcan sheep’s wool.

Through the felting process, the wool envelops and protects the cotton, creating that sense of shelter, of silent transformation… of a chrysalis. It is a play of textures where light passes through the fibres, revealing shades and colours that speak of a craft that respects the cycle of life.

A play that reminds us that, sometimes, all we need to shine again is a place where we feel safe.
